Tim Doner is a hyper-polyglot. This New York City teenager has been teaching himself foreign languages since he was 13. He now speaks nearly 20 different world languages.
French, Latin, ancient Greek, Mandarin, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Hindi, Indonesian, Wolof, Hausa, Swahili, isiXhosa, Ojibwe, Dutch, Italian are just some languages Tim can communicate in.
Tim often practices languages at restaurants and meet-ups throughout the city, speaking Arabic in Astoria, Queens or Mandarin in New York City’s Chinatown neighborhood. He’ll even order his kebab from street vendors using Arabic.
Tim also uses Skype to practice various languages with friends he has made all over the world.
